I am running for the two year term on the City Council because I want to prove to the residents of San Clemente that I am an energetic, collaborative, and experienced leader with a unique perspective that will add value to our city government. I hope to serve the city that I have loved for the past 20 years.

Hi, I’m Tyler Boden. I graduated from SCHS and went to San Diego State University, where I served as President/CEO of the student government, and sole representative for more than 35,000 students to the University.

Since college, I have pursued a career in renewable energy, and I now operate a local business in San Clemente developing solar projects. I live in downtown San Clemente, and I enjoy surfing and serving the community through the San Clemente Rotary Club and the City of San Clemente Human Affairs Committee.

In my time as student body president at SDSU, I realized the importance of removing my ego from the situation and drawing out solutions through open dialogue and collaboration. This fostered an environment of positive communication, honesty, and productivity.

My goal as your Councilmember is to be an agent of collaboration and mutual respect, so we can do the critically important work that needs to be done on Council. I will work with fellow Councilmembers, staff, and other local elected officials to build an environment of open and productive communication. If we can do that, San Clemente will be better for it. I hope to earn your vote.
